Allison-McCloskey Escrow Company

In 1963, Bill McCloskey climbed a ladder and sat on the rooftop of his father's escrow company to watch President John F Kennedy drive down the Boulevard. Bill, who now owns the family business Allison-McCloskey, admits that this was his most memorable moment on El Cajon Boulevard. His father, Johnny McCloskey started the business with a partner Joe Allison in 1946 on El Cajon Boulevard and Menlo and moved in 1948 to its current location at 4820 El Cajon Boulevard. The two partners settled on El Cajon Boulevard with the understanding that this is was a main highway that ran from coast to coast and one could not beat the amount of traffic that passes by day in and day out.

Bill can recall a lot of nostalgia along the Boulevard. As a young boy, Bill remembers visiting his father's office and eating lunch at Oscars Drive-in or playing baseball at Hoover High School while his dad was working. In high school, he and his girlfriend Kathy, his future wife, would stop by the office after a football game to earn some spending by money by filing papers or helping with other small jobs. Then it was off to Carnation for a hot fudge ice cream sundae.

With all his fond memories, it's no wonder that Bill grew up to love the business of escrow and eventually take over the family company, staking claim as the oldest independent escrow company in California. Bill explained that there is a lot of satisfaction is the work that he does. When a person is buying or selling property, things can become very stressful. He is often working with people's life savings, so when the closure is complete, he reaps a great deal of satisfaction from his client's gratification.

Not only does this historic business have a great reputation as a neighborhood institution that also serves the local ethnic populations, Allison McCloskey offers a range of escrow services that most broker owned escrow companies do not manage. Besides private homes, they are well prepared to handle mobile homes, bulk transfers, 1031 exchanges, and holding escrows.
